PICC was honored to have been invited to speak at a nationwide conference on Substance Exposed Newborns in Alexandria, VA last month.  This summit, hosted by the National AIA Resource Center, showcased exemplary policies and practices for identifying pregnant substance users and developing plans of safe care for their newborns. Attended by members of the medical, social and legal communities, it was extremely informative and comforting to know that so many people are trying to develop strategies to help these smallest victims of drug abuse.

Baby Showers

Have a "baby shower" for PICC to help collect items that are needed at the center. PICC 's  “wish list”  is a great resource to help you make purchases that are "just right" while collecting items that are specific for these little ones.

Volunteer Tours

The first step to volunteering at PICC is attending a volunteer orientation and tour. For more information and date and time, click here.

Foster Parent Classes

Pediatric Interim Care Center is now offering a class called
"An Introduction to Caring for Drug-Exposed Babies.”

Taught by PICC staff, the class will introduce how to care for a drug exposed infant. Included is also how to recognize the signs and signals of drug exposure along with the special therapeutic handling techniques needed to care for these little ones.

We apologize, but all classes are on hold at this time.
