HOW TO REFER A BABY TO PICC

All referrals for a baby needing to come to PICC must go through your local Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) before placement occurs. Hospitals, Social Workers, and/or families may inquire about the center and the bed space availability before DSHS contact. At that time it may be determined if this particular placement would be appropriate. The majority of our babies come in on voluntary placement. Call Barbara Drennen, the Executive Director of PICC, at 253-852-5253, for any further information.

PICC also provides a 24-hour help line to anyone in need of support when dealing with a drug-affected infant or child. All calls are confidential and can remain anonymous if preferred. Parents, foster families or anyone who is struggling with the complexities of caring for a such an infant is welcome to call the Pediatric Interim Care Center at 253-852-5253.
